Chris Brown's third studio album Graffiti is poised to earn the title of being next week's top debut on the Billboard 200.
Projected to arrive on the chart with close to 100,000 copies moved, Brown's anticipated album is expected to top totals from hip-hop stars Snoop Dogg, Gucci Mane, BG and Clipse.
Featuring the hit singles "I Can Transform Ya" and "Crawl," Brown's Graffiti arrived in stores Tuesday. Since its release, Graffiti has garnered mixed reviews from sources including The Los Angeles Times, Slant Magazine and Entertainment Weekly, the latter of which gave the album a 'B-'.
Graffiti follows Brown's mega hit sophomore effort Exclusive which spawned the singles "Wall To Wall," "Kiss Kiss," "Take You Down," Forever," and "Superhuman". The album also aided Brown in snapping up Artist of the Year at the 2008 American Music Awards.
Graffiti is now available in stores and at digital retail.

One of the big questions this Oscar season surrounds the chances of such sci-fi genre fare as Avatar, Star Trek and District 9 to land on Oscar’s best-picture Top Ten List. I did into that question here and come up with some surprising answers.
The bottom line is, in order for these films to make it into major Oscar contention, they will have to be among the voters’ top choices. And in order for that to happen, they will need to be critically-hailed game-changers that move them out of mere genre status. If Avatar (which I will see Thursday night) becomes a game-changer like Star Wars, it will do fine. District 9 could use some help from critics’ groups. And Star Trek will probably have to settle for technical noms, with an outside shot at an adapted screenplay slot (a tough category).

Neil Diamond covers an Adam Sandler classic, "The Chanukah Song." (Not my preferred spelling, but it's how Neil posted it on YT.)

It turns out that this is not the case. MTV News' Josh Horowitz spoke with Cameron and producer Jon Landau on the red carpet at the London premiere of "Avatar," and the project in question has nothing to do with space-age samurai. The actual plan is to remake sci-fi classic "Fantastic Voyage," in 3-D, with Cameron taking on the role of producer.
In the original, a small team attempts to save the life of a nearly-assassinated diplomat through a uniquely invasive surgical procedure. The magic of science allows the doctors to be shrunken down to microscopic size and injected into the ailing diplomat's body. Piloting a specialized submersible craft -- also tiny -- the team attempts to repair with the diplomat's condition -- a blood clot in his brain -- on a cellular level.
The original hit theaters in 1966, long before digital effects were a factor in Hollywood filmmaking. One can only imagine how cool (and gooey) the diplomat's computer generated innards could be made to look with today's techniques. Add 3-D to that mix and... well... count me as excited. Stay tuned to MTV.com for additional updates... more to come when the Movies team returns from their trip across the Atlantic.

Gavin Rossdale's firstborn child, Daisy Lowe, 20, was spotted going for a stroll with her little brother, Kingston Rossdale, 3 1/2, in London on Thursday (December 10).
That's right, before Kingston and Zuma, there was Daisy! Daisy's mother is singer/songwriter turned textile and fashion designer, Pearl Lowe. Until 2004, Daisy was believed to be the daughter of Pearl's ex-husband Bronner Handwerger, but a paternity test revealed that her godfather, Gavin Rossdale, was in fact her biological father.
Pearl wrote about the situation in her book, All That Glitters, where she revealed that Daisy was the product of a one night stand between herself and Rossdale. Gwen Stefani was reportedly furious about the situation which was said to cause some difficulty in their marriage.
Until now, Gavin had reportedly severed all ties with the Lowes. It looks like the families are making amends over the holiday season!

To help launch the 4th season of Big Love, HBO recorded ”A Juniper Creek Christmas,” a holiday album that features eight classic songs where the lyrics have a lulzy twist to reflect life on the Juniper Creek compound. A music video for “Here We Come From Juniper Creek” was also produced to accompany the album (see it at the source).

Amanda Blank is a rapstress from Philadelphia with whom you may already be familiar. She raps with the mouth of a pirate hooker and she’s a class act in person. Amanda is hot, but not so hot that you’d be afraid to kick it to her at last call. Hearing her rap about all of the ways she’s going to let you hit it is empowering; it gives you confidence knowing that some girls are really WAY MORE into the weird shit than some men. So with this in mind, I took her to San Francisco’s Good Vibrations, a dildo shop.

Update on this post.
The drunken lout seen sucker-punching a "Jersey Shore" hottie in a video clip gone viral is a New York City public school teacher, The Post has learned.
And the sudden right cross seen across the Internet has earned Queens gym teacher Brad Ferro a technical knockout — he’s been moved out of class and into one of the Department of Education’s teacher reassignment centers, also known as a "rubber room," agency officials confirmed.
( indulge your morbid curiosity )
good luck with your imminent unemployment, bud. The new episode of Jersey Shore airs tonight at 10 PM... OMGGGGG

To say Taylor Swift had a remarkable year would be a comic understatement.
She sold more albums than any artist not named Michael Jackson. Her first headlining tour, Fearless 2009, sold out every show within minutes. She became the youngest woman to win the Country Music Assn.'s entertainer of the year award, and she set seemingly every chart record that exists.
